A Call from the Council of The Grubb Institute
The Council of The Grubb Institute is seeking to establish A Grubb Guild of creative thinkers and practitioners, passionately committed to working professionally to release untapped resources in people and organisations for the common good. It sees this as the primary means in the future of delivering services that will fulfil the Institute’s purpose. The purpose of The Grubb Institute of Behavioural Studies is to contribute to the healing, repair and transformation of the world we have contributed to co-creating - mobilising faiths, beliefs, spiritualties, passions, values and religions as resources for transformation. Over the past 54 years, staff at The Institute have contributed significantly to the development of methodologies that assist people and organisations to be purposeful and passionate in the roles that they take up as intentional, interdependent, co-creators of lived experience. This has resulted in extensive work all over the world and the establishment of the discipline of Organisational Analysis, rooted in the Grubb Institute’s Transforming Experience Framework. A Discernment in Action 2011 process has led us to a renewed sense of purpose, recognising that the context is calling forth a different form of engagement between people in roles in organisations. People and organisations in the 21st Century are seeking to develop different ways of working - they are acknowledging that they are potentially limited by their own organisational assumptions and understanding as they face the uncertainties and complexity of our global context. We believe that The Institute is called to engage as a conscious, purposeful and intentional collaborator with organisations and people of aligned passion that serves the movement of Source-inspired people and organisations intentionally, purposefully and passionately, striving to transform the ways in which people and organisations, countries and nations, engage with each other, as interdependent co-creators of our personal and collective experience. The concept of a Guild has emerged from this process as a new way of mobilising resources, to take into the future the work of The Institute. We are seeking expressions of interest from skilled professionals who experience a resonance with The Institute’s purpose and would like to participate in an action inquiry process exploring the co-creation of a global Guild of people passionately committed to releasing untapped resources in people and organisation. Expressions of interest are welcome from:
Participation in the development of the Guild will offer the opportunity to discern whether a Guild is likely to be a form of organisation that you would like to be involved with over the short, medium or long-term. Expressions of Interest need to be communicated to the Institute by Forming a GuildThe Council will be meeting on the 8th July 2011 to consider its investment plans and, following this, will initiate a process to develop A Grubb Guild to be launched in May 2012. The Guild's formation and development will be led by Bruce Irvine, Council member and Executive Director of The Institute. The Guild will be authorised to engage in a process of intentional, interdependent co-creation, working with emergent realities. We envisage that this will require working together to: Clarify, develop and rejuvenate the Guild service brand that realises The Institute’s purpose
The Institute Council is committed to working with emergence and as such is placing the intention of the establishment of the Guild forward. Our desire is for skilled practitioners to join together to create this delivery organisation. The process of formation and co-creation will be researched as a means to contributing to the understanding of organisational development and transformatio The Council will invest in the creation of the Guild by looking at ways of supporting the co-creators in this process, providing access to specialist resources eg branding, marketing, social media, web technologies, designers, business planning, etc. The Council is also exploring the range of ways that technology can support the co-created Guild during the development phase and beyond. What next? You may know people who may be interested in this development – in that case, please pass this message on. We look forward to hearing from you Bruce Irvine, |
